Restructure and Implement Brand Protection Program

OBJECTIVE

Evaluate and restructure existing U.S. brand protection program to increase effective use of private investigators and law enforcement.

STRATEGY

Develop the capability to investigate and pursue brand counterfeiting nationally through a network of regional investigators, increase attention and activities of U.S. Customs, and lower costs through participation in multi-brand brand enforcement activities.

INNOVATIONS

Through personal contacts in the industry, we established and managed a network of qualified and experienced anti-counterfeiting investigators with close ties to all levels of law enforcement. This increased the training of law enforcement and the participation of the brand in criminal investigations. We developed a training guide and distributed it nationally to investigators, law enforcement and U.S. Customs. We increased the participation of the brand in intellectual property rights enforcement groups. As a result, the arrests of counterfeiters of the brand and the seizures of counterfeit goods increased throughout the country.
